Trains local women to become tour guides for rural mountain villages of Nepal — survivors of domestic violence, child marriage and human trafficking

Die Überlebenden, die mit SASANE zusammenarbeiten, stammen aus Nepal und seinen ländlichen Gemeinden und gehören zur marginalisierten Bevölkerung mit starken wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Einschränkungen.

Our Founder's work has been celebrated by IPD who works directly with German government in promoting sustainable travel. SASANE has been collaborating with IPD since many years and is committed to diversify in sustainable tourism.

Survivors of human trafficking have been through things we could never imagine. Their strength, courage and resilience are inspiring. However, due to their traumatic experiences they do at times lack self-confidence.

In the year 2019, SASANE Sisterhood received an award from Booking Booster to further the startup to revolutionize tourism through women empowerment.

Operating in Nepal since 2016, SASANE Sisterhood trains female human-trafficking survivors to become trekking guides in the Himalayas. Their tours are all operated by women.

The UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism are the flagship awards for the global tourism sector, recognizing knowledge creation, dissemination and innovative solutions.
