SASANE Sisterhood Treks & Travel was established in the year 2016 by a team of women trafficking survivors, tourism experts, travel enthusiasts and legal advisors. The sole purpose of SSTT from its humble beginning was to empower women, especially survivors of human trafficking through tourism. SSTT funds and trains survivors of human trafficking to become certified tour and trekking guides.
Knowing that the poor economic situations is the driving force behind human trafficking in rural mountains of Nepal, SSTT first started a tourism route in Mudi village and started developing it as a destination which in turn generated income for the local communities hit most by the poverty. In time, SASANE Sisterhood was able to provide ample source of income for the community which dampened and eventually stopped human trafficking occurence due to poverty.
In years that followed from 2016 - 2023, SSTT has evolved into a thriving tour operator offering multiple tourism activities for the travellers. More than 90% of our employees are women.
