Bhasmasur- Champadevi Day hike
Bhasmasur-Champadevi Hill hike is one of the popular and moderate hiking destinations near Kathmandu valley, located at an altitude of 2278m in the southwest of Kritipur, an ancient city of Kathmandu. This hike is ideal for those who have a busy schedule and want to go on a quick adventure.

Champadevi hill is named after the open shrine ‘Champadevi temple’ at the top of the hill. There is also a Buddhist stupa which adds spiritual and religious significance to the place.
From Bhasmasur-Champadevi Hill, you can enjoy the spectacular landscape of the entire Kathmandu valley, the breathtaking snow-capped mountains including Mt. Everest, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Annapurna, Gaurishanker and Champadevi temple itself. You will walk through the magnificent forested trails to arrive at the destination.
The historical settlements of Bungamati, Pharping, and Khokana are also visible from Champa Devi. Bhasmasur hill (another high hill) for more enthusiastic hikers. This Champadevi day hike is a perfect adventure and can complete in just 5 to 6 hours.
Early morning drive after breakfast to Mache Gaun which is about 30 mins from Kathmandu. The hike will begin from Mache gaun to Bhasmasur hill. As you go up, the clearer view of Kathmandu Valley, Mt. Jugal, Mt. Ganesh and Mt. Langtang range can be seen and motivates you to climb higher. Though the uphill stairs may give you sweats, the sweet breeze passing on the hill helps you refresh. It's about a 2.5 hours uphill hike on stairs through the lush green forest to reach Chap Bhanjyang where the lunch, Nepali Thali, cooked on wood fire, will be ready to be served in Chap Bhanjyang Resort. After some refreshments, lunch & relaxation at the resort, the hike continues to the top of the Bhasmasur Hill, then down to Champadevi Hill. The route consists of various stairs, downhill and uphill finally the hike ends at Hattiban Resort. It takes about 3.5 hrs from Bhasmasur hill to reach the hike ending point to Hattiban Resort passing through Champadevi hill. At the hike ending point, our vehicle will be waiting to drop you off to Kathmandu which takes about 30-35 min drive.
