This is an excellent trekking experience for people interested in the traditional Nepalese culture of the Gorkha homeland. The trail is easy i.e. safe and comfortable for all age groups and there are numerous opportunities for photography. Manakamna is a sacred place of the Hindu goddess Bhagwati. The name Manakamana originates from two words, “mana” meaning heart and “kamana” meaning wish. So people believe it to be a wish fulfilling temple.

This place also holds a special significance as the birthplace of Prithvi Narayan Shah. He established the unified Kingdom of Nepal and became the first king.Gorkha Durbar also has great religious importance and leather items like shoes, belts etc. are not allowed inside. It features excellent craft of peacocks, demons, and serpents in every inch of wood. Gorkha is also famous for the bravery of its Gorkha soldiers against the British Indian Company.
