Our Story

SASANE Sisterhood Trekking & Travel brings a unique approach to ecotourism and sustainable travel through the tour guide training of local women. They’re trained to lead tours through the rural mountain villages of Nepal. These women rise up from underprivileged community groups and are survivors of domestic violence, child marriage, and human trafficking.

Our mission was founded on May 8, 2016. We are a registered tour business at Kalikasthan, Dillibazar, Kathmandu, Nepal with a branch office in Birauta, Pokhara, Nepal.

We are proud to empower 31 certified and experienced women trekking guides.

WHO WE ARE

Our mission breaks the evil chain of gender violence and human trafficking. We provide a dignified and viable source of income to the impoverished and targeted women in our communities.

OUR VISION

We believe that every survivor of human trafficking can achieve her ideal dream and her full potential. We see a Nepal where every survivor is equipped with the self-esteem, skills, and knowledge necessary to become a leader in her chosen path.

OUR OBJECTIVE

• To offer a unique experience of relaxation, comfort and memorable experiences in our offbeat rural destinations.
• Introducing various income diversification strategies to the rural communities to ensure sustainable livelihood.
• Training women trafficking survivors and those females at risk of all forms of violence in the tourism and hospitality sector.
• Creating employment opportunities for women while practicing responsible and sustainable tourism.
• Facilitating reintegration of survivors into their families with improved self-esteem and dignity.
• Generating income to fund education and training programs.
