Tutepani Homestay Trekking is a village tourism trail situated southwest of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in the Annapurna hills. The trek offers you a delightful opportunity to stay in the house of local families, learn and see the Gurung culture, tradition and lifestyle from the very close, try local cuisines and observe local culture and Himalayas.This trekking trail is specially designed to preserve the tourism revenue and benefits on the local level.
The Tutepani Homestay Trekking begins at Damauli in the beautiful city of Tanahu. The trail goes past the Kali Gandaki gorge before entering into the forests of oaks and pines. You will stop over at several prominent villages like Banskharka, Nangi, Mohare, Dandakharka, and Tikot, each of which produces organic food and local handicraft. The highest point of this trek is Mohare at 3300m which affords breathtaking closer views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Tukuche (6920m) and Mardi (5587m).
Trek Highlights
Welcoming (Tribhuvan International airport) transfer to SASANE Homestay or Hotel (1300m) and at the evening together for welcome dinner and some briefing about the full trip. Overnight at SASANE homestay or Hotel.
After breakfast, meet the guide and drive to a sightseeing destination. Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city- Historical Durbar Square area, Pasupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Swyambhunath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions and lunch break will be at SASANE (learn about SASANE and its work in the field of human trafficking,and get involved in MoMo cooking class with SASANE Sisters/overnight at SASANE homestay or Hotel.
We will pick you up from your place early in the morning at 7 am. Drive towards Tutepani via damauli. The Tutepani village consists altogether of 35 households with various facilities and natural beauty like water, road, electricity, telephone, internet and group formation. As soon as we enter the Tutepani village, the villagers will welcome us with warm respect by decorating themselves in their cultural dresses. We will stay the night with a local family as their family members and experience typical Nepalese culture, tradition and lifestyle.
Early in the morning, we can view a beautiful scenery of the mountains from your bed. After the sunrise in the morning, we can view the lowlands, rivers, agricultural fields, small towns and villages along with green forests and low lying mountains. In the South, there exists a government school "Araniko Higher Secondary School" where we can visit the school and get involved with children and share your knowledge and experience about child rights, child marriage, gender and sexual violance. We can visit small local markets fulfilling the daily requirements of the village. Also, we will visit some of the local temples and nearby villages like pulimaaryang, and in the evening we will close our day with a beautiful cultural program by the villagers.
After a warm and organic breakfast, the homestay family will farewell us with their traditional way. We will take a drive to Pokhara . overnight at SASANE homestay or Hotel on the lakeside.
Early in the morning we will leave for Sarangkot for beautiful sunrise and panoramic Mountain View. After spending some time in the viewpoint, we will have our breakfast in the restaurant in Sarangkot and start our Pokhara city tour. Today we will visit some of the major tourist places like Bindyabasini temple,Devi’s fall, World peace pagoda, Begnas Lake and visit Agriculture farm and have a local organic lunch in the nearby village of Begnash lake. .
After early breakfast, we will drive/ fly back to Kathmandu. Free day and last minute shopping at Thamel.
